Our first walk was from Embleton to Craster and back. The route took us along the sea shore to Craster with the return journey following an inland route.
Ken and Anne bringing up the rear
Martin and Tom who have been best friends now for 70 years since sharing a desk in Primary 1 at the age of 5
This feature just next to Dunstanburgh Castle was explained to us by Niall who is a Geologist
Niall manages to survive getting close to the birds he is photographing without falling over the cliff. Anne looks on also unperturbed by the dangerous cliff.
Job Done

Dunstanburgh Castle
Craster Harbour
On the inland route back to Embleton we passed a few of these old Pillboxes or gun emplacements. They look like sandbags but are concrete and now over 75 years old.
We also passed this old Lime Kiln
For part of the journey back we walked along this concrete footpath we reckoned was build to service the pillboxes during World War 2.
Tom and Ken looking very cool during lunch in Craster

A family of Sparrow's kept us amused during our lunch
The party returning to Embleton minus Sandria who is recovering from a virus and did well to do the first half of the walk but came back with Gaye, Elspeth, and Aileen after lunch.
Back in Embleton and time for a pint in the Blue Bell
