Mountain View Shoreline Park and an Aviation Museum

After the rain of yesterday when we were stuck inside all day it was good to get out again. The temperature was 59F when we left the house but by the time we got to Shoreline Park it was 64F which was very pleasant. This is a lovely lake and park on the shores of the Bay. We were joined by Fraser's friend Stephen and his three older children.
The Bay
Despite being in a very populated area you have plenty of space here to walk and cycle and there are walking causeways right across the Bay.
Eleanor having fun on the Pirate Ship
Picnic time for the kids
A few miles further along the coast is the Hiller Aviation Museum next door to a small airport. This is an Albatross Flying Boat built in 1948
Google have a Maps display on a huge screen so I focussed into the Muckle Toon.
Sitting in the Captains seat of a Boing 747 brought some happy memories back to me. In 1991 I chartered a 747 for Whitehaven company Albright & Wilson to fly 88 tonnes of Head & Shoulders raw material for a new Procter and Gambol factory in China. It was a great feeling standing on the upper deck of the 747 freighter watching 4 Arctic 40 footers bring the cargo and it was loaded in 40 minutes. These memories all came back to me of the fun times I had in the Air Freight industry.
I had a very good co-pilot today
It was all too much for Elliot and he was asleep within 5 minutes of getting into the car for the journey home
