David's Birthday Walk at Westerhall

It is a while since David has been able to walk with us on a Wednesday but it has been his 79th Birthday last weekend so he was delighted to walk with us today through Westerhall Estate and back by the Fishermen's paths along the Esk to the Walled Garden and then back along the road past the big house. This looks to be a hut recently put up there for use by the Westerhall Estate Fishermen.
We walked from Bentpath to Burnfoot along the road through the Estate and then took the paths beside the river to return to the Walled Garden. The paths are extremely well looked after as is every part of this beautiful estate and it is such a pleasure to walk through it.
This photograph was provided by David and is of his lovely Black Labrador Ruger who was not allowed with us today as there were far too many distractions like Pheasants for him. He was walking along the river at the weekend when he suddenly jumped in and came out with this Salmon. He is such a loveable rascal and is looking so pleased with himself here.
