Another Walk Through Westerhall

Its not often we get as many as 5 on our local walk as we have all been on out travels over the last couple of months. Today was a perfect day to walk from Bentpath to Langholm and see the Azaleas and Rhododendrons at their best.
The weather was perfect although we feel that maybe some of the blooms were past their best and others might be better in a week or two's time.
Westerhall House is one of the most beautiful in the area but only occupied for a few weeks a year. What a waste of such a beautiful estate.
Peter and John get familiar with a naked lady
Some of the blooms
I don't know what this is meant to be but it is rather nice.
Peter gives us the low down on his old house where he lived for about 3 years 40 years ago.
This is Tom Scott's house adjoining Staplegordon. It is beautifully landscaped.
Niall discovered his Great Grandparents gravestone in the graveyard.
One of the paths from the big house through the estate and a lovely display of Azaleas
This sculptured tree was done about 2 years ago and is nicely weathered now. We finished our walk with lunch in the Buccleuch Centre.
