A Walk Round Haweswater

We have been very fortunate with excellent weather every Monday this month and today was no exception. Tom and I set out at 9.00am to walk the 10 mile circuit of Haweswater in the North Lakes. It was very cold when we started (-2c) but by the time we had walked a couple of miles the sun was up and it was a beautiful day. We had a picnic lunch at the southern end of the Lake and then headed on the road along the eastern bank of the lake finishing after about 4.5 hours. It looks as if our regular Monday walks will change to a Wednesday from 3rd November as Tom now has to get back early every Monday to get ready to go to Carlisle to play Bridge. Over the last 2 years since I retired we must have done over 80 Monday walks and very few of them have been cancelled due to bad weather so I hope the trend continues with Wednesdays.
