Four Rent Boys in Eyemouth
As it is Martin's birthday this week he decided where we should walk so he selected the cliff walk from Eyemouth to Berwick a distance of 12 miles. Tom and i headed off from Langholm at 7.30am and arrived in plenty of time to meet John and Martin off the train from Edinburgh at Berwick station, but it had been cancelled so we had to wait another 30 minutes before they arrived. We immediately took a taxi to Eyemouth for the start of the walk. On arrival at Eyemouth harbour we asked a local worker if he would take our traditional starting photograph which he readily agreed to do but then made the comment "You will never make any money as male prostitutes". There can be no further comment to that remark. The weather improved and we completed the 12 mile walk with no rain and although the sun never quite got out it was almost perfect walking weather. We arrived back in Berwick about 3.30pm and then had a pint and a bar lunch in a local pub before returning to the station to make our way back to Langholm and Edinburgh. It was an excellent day's walking and the crack was good especially when crossing the Scotland-England border Tom declared his intention to claim Berwick back into Scottish territory.
