Easton's Walk

This walk was opened up as an "All Abilities Footpath" 5 years ago and unfortunately it has now slipped into the river and will probably not open again. The cost of repairs will be in excess of 30K and it could just as easily slip again as the whole enbankment along Easton's walk is slipping.

That's a shame. Why did it close the first time? It was open ten yers ago. Although I do remember it being a little eroded then too.

Is it just that spot or is it like that all along the river?

It's like that for about 200 yards and i think it's just natural erosion caused by rain and some of the old trees dyeing so there are no roots holding the banking together.

That is a shame. There aren't so many buggy/wheelchair friendly walks in the muckle toon.
