The Bandstand takes shape

The Ty Pennington Bandstand is beginning to take shape. This photograph was taken on Friday night and tonight the roof is on but it was difficult to take a photograph at the time we were there so you will see the completed building taken tomorrow night.

Tye's Great British Adventure

American Tye Pennington is in Langholm this week filming a Makeover of the Kilngreen. The above 2 photographs show the start of the Bandstand and the new all abilities walk which will link on to the walk at the Jubilee Bridge. There is to be a big picnic and party on Sunday night followed by a Fireworks Display so hopefully all will be completed in time.

The Ladies love an Ice Cream

An afternoon walk to Paddy Freeman Park usually leads to an Ice Cream and Thursday was no exception. After a game of Hide and Seek amont the trees we finished up having a delicious Ice Cream.

My Birthday Walk - Ravenglass Railway

For my birthday walk i chose the route from the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway in the Lake District. We all met up at Carlisle Station and took the train to Ravenglass where we headed up the Valley on Little Rattie. The walk back was 8 miles and it started by following the river Esk and then we took the route along the ridge of Muncaster Fell. We were very lucky with the weather as it had rained heavily all morning but cleared just as we arrived at Ravenglass and kept fair all afternoon.

Gozo

We spent a full day on Gozo and these photographs show the Harbour and a view of the typical fields on Gozo. The island of Gozo is much more fertile than Malta due to the clay soil which retails water. The whole island is a patchwork of small fields with every spare corner used to grow all kinds of produce.

Valetta Harbour

On Sunday we met up with Francis & Linda Fitzpatrick who were spending a week on Malta at the same time as us. We met them at the entrance to the old part of Valetta and had a lovely afternoon wandering round the city. This is the view from gardens overlooking the harbour.
