Bruce the Parson's Jack Russell Terrier

On our last evening of the week's holiday in Cartmel we dined in the Cavendish Hotel in the village and had an excellent meal. Almost all the hotels in Cartmel welcome dogs and Bruce was very well behaved.

On our first morning walk with Norman. We managed to walk up to 3 miles every morning except the last one before we came away. He was a great companion and so well behaved and the dog was well behaved as well.

Our Chalet for the coming week. It is very well furnished and very comfortable.

After breakfast we headed in to Cartmel  to explore. Norman and I went for a walk while Gaye and Doreen went to a Craft Fair.

After Cartmel Gaye and I headed to Grange over Sands and a walk along the lovely Promenade followed by a light lunch in a small cafe.

 

A Puppy Adventure

After a week in Wales the two of them are now inseparable.

It is certainly going to a good home and will be a companion for their elderly Labrador Finlay

Just over a week ago we got a call from our friends Norman and Doreen in Wales. They had been searching on line for a Parsons Jack Russell puppy and they had come up with a litter in Hawick. Could we help them to get it to Wales. The only way was for Doreen to come up on the train to Carlisle last Sunday and I would meet her and the following morning would take her to Hawick to collect the puppy and then back to Carlisle for the journey by train to Bridgend. In actual fact the lady who bred it delivered the puppy to us on Monday morning. Doreen meeting Bruce for the first time. 

 

Officially I am Now an Old Man

Yesterday was my 70th Birthday so the family held a party in my honour with all my walking friends invited. Fiona was the driving force behind it and she made it such a special day by putting on a wonderful buffet. 

The original Last of the Summer Wine Walkers but it has been added to over the last 10 years and now there are now 8 of us plus of course partners.

Tom and I relaxing on the settee with me on my phone as usual but it was a Face Time call from Fraser in California and the kids sang Happy Birthday to me. Just wish they could have been here.
