Campbell Farmers Market followed by a Pool Party

An early start for Campbell Farmers Market which is spectacular and very busy even at 9.00am in the morning.  It was warm even at that time and we had breakfast there. Gaye looking very fashionable.
Plenty of fresh vegetables but they are not cheap, although that's probably just California for you.
Sunflowers were very popular and loads of people were buying them.
Loads of fruit and we bought Corn cobs for the BBQ
Elliot and Tommy bought these stone items but it was the popcorn that they really loved.
Elliot was looking after Granny
After the Market we spent a few hours at the new house doing some more sanding and then headed to Frasers friends Aurelian and Emma for the Pool Party and BBQ. Aurelian is French and Emma is from Edinburgh so it was a real Auld Alliance evening with wonderful hospitality

Thomas and Fraser.
Fraser & Leslie have great friends and their life in California seems to be one of high quality
Cooling off from 90F temperature
Gaye with a large Gin & Tonic, or maybe flavoured water.
Cooling her feet in the pool. We ended the evening with a most enjoyable Islay Malt and the kids by now in their pyjamas ready to go straight to bed after a 5 minute car journey. A wonderful evening in smashing company.

Campbell Farmers Market and a Hill Climb

For the second Sunday on the trot we visited Campbell Farmers Market but this time Carlo and Sidne joined us from Utah as they have arrived to take us along the Pacific Coast next week. The market is just fantastic and the above photograph of Oranges is very appropriate as this seems to be the peak of the Season for them. Each stall has loads of tasters so you are spoilt for choice.

Strawberries everywhere.

Daffodils by the bucket all grown locally

Eleanor loves her cheese and has a taste of one

A bag of popcorn keeps kids happy for the rest of the morning

After the Market we headed to the park for a walk and a chance to take some family photographs.

Tommy still hiding.

Grandparents and Grandchildren

After lunch we headed to Freemont to climb a steep hill and a great view over the valley. Considering it is only six months since Gaye finished her Chemotherapy she is doing really well and had the energy to climb this hill. I am very proud of her.

An excellent 2 mile walk climbing to over 1000ft. The weather was perfect with the temperature about 65F and a total of 5 miles completed for the day.

Campbell Market and the Auld Alliance

This morning Fraser & Leslie took us to the Farmers Market in Campbell. It was the best we have seen with loads of fresh local produce of all kinds.

Thomas & Eleanor were well fed on the free samples and this is what we purchased.

In the afternoon we were invited for a meal by Fraser & Leslie's friends Emma and Aurelien.
Emma is from Edinburgh and Aurelien is from France. He works for Apple on the development of cameras and spends a considerable time in Japan. It was a most interesting afternoon.

Arlene asked Gaye if she wanted a fresh orange drink so he went into the garden and picked 3 oranges from a tree and within 2 minutes had squeezed them into a beautiful drink. You cannot get any fresher than that.

Their daughter Elise was very taken with Elliot
